The auto repair
industry has raised quality levels over the past 3 decades to
the point where now the ordinary shop is doing more maintenance
than repairs. Now is the time to organize your shop to maximize
your repeat customer count.
Object –
Schedule the next appointment as they leave the shop today.
First thing to do is
change the “Service Due Title” to “Your Next Appointment:” in
ServiceShop.
As the customer picks
up his vehicle you ask him/her if Wednesday (someday months in
the future) is a good day to bring the car back for the
scheduled service and get their agreement.
Open the schedule and
record the appointment for Wednesday.
During the week before
the appointment you send out postcards reminding the customer of
the upcoming appointment.
On Tuesday you print
the Service Due Report for Wednesday and call the customer
reminding them of the appointment tomorrow.
When the car comes in
you delete the appointment.
During the next week
when you are printing your weekly letters, send a letter to
every appointment still in the book for last week. This is the
“You missed your Appointment” letter.
Maintain the car and
use Service Templates as much as possible. This will allow you
to automatically reschedule for the next Service. If any
additional Services are required, manually add them now.
Repeat this everyday
and week.
